monty Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Intenet access has been very erratic this afternoon. Could not access international sites for a few hours, Thai sites were blazing fast though... Little bit better now but still not good. Had exactly the same on my Maxnet@life adsl, and on a back-up ksc dial up package, so I guess Thailands international gateway packed up for the umptenth time...

PATTAYAPUNTER Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 I've tried opening Yahoo with IE and Firefox to no avail. Very odd that one popular page doesn't open for the last 24 hours but other obscure sites open easily. Any guesses or suggestions please? Thank you.
PATTAYAPUNTER Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 Quoting myself (ugh). All systems go at 10:30am local time. Tit! I've tried opening Yahoo with IE and Firefox to no avail. Hobgoblin Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 The problem is with Thailand's international pipe. I recently went into the TOT office to upgrade my DSL to a 4mbit connection and was told to wait until November when the international link was fixed. I have a 1mbit Maxnet connection, and it's only operating at about half the speed until about 2-3AM when it's full speed until 6 or 7 in the morning. Hopefully, this problem is being caused by widening the pipe to allow for more bandwidth (and faster speeds for less money). Only time will tell.
RalphS Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 ...I recently went into the TOT office to upgrade my DSL to a 4mbit connection and was told to wait until November when the international link was fixed... How much does it cost in T-land to have a DSL line? I think here in the States I'm paying about $18.00 per month. Thanks, Ralph
