Sister Ancilan was somewhat reticent when it came to sex education and I spent most of her biology lessons drawing little faces on the sprem diagrams in our text books, however from what little I gleamed from her teaching and life experience since, I don't think that's how babies are made. So no not apt at all really.

Its just the same old mysoginistic attitude often displayed here on TV that Thai women are motivated only by money, in this case, the idea thst the baby will become a celebrity in the future. Suggesting that the mother cannot be motivated by any maternal desire--only financial.

But I could really care a less at this point. I see this as one of the problems that a gay couple is up against--the biological fact they can't reproduce through more traditional methods. The fact they must rely on a surrogate which is illegal in many countries. The fact the birth mother might change her mind. The fact some guys on a forum famous for Thai bashing think she is in it for the money. I could give a rats ass about any of it because it doesn't affect me. Thats my opinion on the matter. Deal with it.

I was hoping to read sympathy for this couple on this thread. The child was born in February, now they have to wait until next March. She has been living in hotel rooms, with her parents, all this time. The surrogate did not even turn up at the court. From what i have read she is not all that interested in Carmen.

The egg donor did the DNA test, she and Mr Lake are the biological parents of Carmen. The surrogate was just a womb. Women have been doing this for decades for childless couples. Jeez, even Nicole Kidman used a surrogate for her youngest.

But, what do i read. Homophobic, nasty comments. This is 2015, we do not live in the 1950's anymore.

I would not be at all surprised if money was still an issue in this case tho I will not speculate because I don't know her. There's nothing for me to deal with but I kind of enjoy challenging bigotry, it's quite an easy thing to do

I assume the majority of clients for international surrogacy are infertile HETEROSEXUAL couples. Stop ragging on gay people. They're just people and some of them want to be parents. Surrogacy is one option. There are others that are less controversial, such as adoption.
