All good this morning from Hat Yai

Please keep in mind this thread is about latency / ping. Having good bandwidth is only one part of the whole and mostly irrelevant for online gaming.

Latency: 327 ms

Jitter: 1 ms

Latency: 50 ms

Jitter: 1 ms

Are the above two results received by the same device?

Or two different devices?

Or two different devices?

They are the same device (desktop pc). All I have to do is change my Ethernet cable from the ToT router to the TRUE router, both of which sit on my computer desk.

ISP's speed tests might be rigged....

Better to use an independent tool like OOKLA.

~30 ms to Singapore??? LOL - most members will need that already to connect to a BKK server, eg. from Pattaya.

>300 ms for non-business use to BKK is quite probable...

Statistical average ping time BKK-Singapore 35.55ms

Here is a table of average ping times from Bangkok to other cities - https://wondernetwork.com/pings/Bangkok

My university computer in Chiang Mai to Singapore:

(I assume, your university computer is connected to the CM university network...)

AFAIK, the IIR internet exchange is nowadays only used for universities and research - so your pings might not be representative for Mr. Anyone.

If you have the settings for both ToT & True, why not try inter-changing the router settings?

Or if possible to borrow another router for testing?

Tot has for years been known as having worse latency to Singapore than many others, though not 300ms bad. True fast but often unreliable with their great proxy.

BREAKING NEWS:

Today for the first time since "the incident" roughly 4 weeks ago, I'm getting pings of 30-40 ms to (game) servers in Singapore and 180 ms to Australia. Not quite as good as it was before but very close. Strangely I'm still getting Latency: 237 ms to Singapore on the TRUE speed test and I'm not sure why that is happening.

TRUE connection is unchanged, still pinging about 210 ms to Australia, when before it used to be about 150 ms.

Right now at least, I'm a happy camper.
