Chinese, Thai air forces to hold first joint exercise

BEIJING: -- The Chinese and Thai air forces will this month hold their first joint exercises, China's Defence Ministry said on Wednesday, in another sign of army-led Thailand's increased engagement with Beijing.

The "Falcon Strike 2015" drills will take place at the Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base from Nov. 12-30, China's Defence Ministry said in a short statement.

"The aim of this joint exercise is to increase mutual learning and understanding between the two countries' air forces, deepen Sino-Thai practical cooperation and increase mutual trust and friendship," it said, without elaborating.

Chinese made junk on display. Underpowered engines and unworkable avionics to go with the air frame designs they stole from the US. Watch out if you're attending to make sure parts of the Chinese planes don't fall on your head, because their manufacturing tolerances aren't worth spit either.

The aim of this exercise is to have Thailands airbases ready for China to use in an upcoming dispute of South China Seas. Thailand is playing a very stupid and dangerous game.

why this is stupid....To cuddle with the strongest bully in the area might be opportunistic but but not stupid....

The same was said about Russian things and than everything was different.....China is for sure lagging behind, but they are working hard to catch up and they will and there are not that many countries that can produce the whole range of military equipment themself. As well they cooperate with Russia and steal from everyone else. As Chinese aren't stupid it is just a question of the time till the west has the next big surprise....

This THAI Airways plays their cards right, this could be a win/win situation!

The two air forces can get their kicks with some live bombing practice, and THAI Airways could get to write a few old aircraft off their books. After all, this will probably be the only way they will shift the 14 lame ducks they currently have listed as ‘held for sale’ with a listed value of ฿13.5 billion!

If done as an act of “friendship” then THAI should be eligible to make an insurance claim.

Just when has it ever been different? Russian quality control? Laughable. Same problem as the Chinese. The only thing Russia can do is drill and mine, and they aren't too efficient at those either.

Holding joint military operations with China is not so unusual.

On 11/3/2015 the USA and China conducted joint naval exercises in the Atlantic Ocean on training on shore in Florida. The exercises included the coordination of maritime communications, fleet operations and rescue missions. The stated purpose was to strengthen trust-building between the two countries.

So not a big deal that Prayut has joint military operations with China. You can be sure that China paid the price for this "friendship," such as buying Thai rice and rubber at higher than market price.

Chinese made junk ? This is the dumb imperialistic intelligence that got the Brits smacked like shit in WWII by the Japanese

Have a look at the Hexia lines in China and then try to figure out why the technology driven industries countries like American cannot upgrade Amtrak to a workable model

Indeed ....look down on China and you will get your ass kicked pretty hard ....how's the accuracy of those tomahawks doing ? Still at 100:1 accuracy payload ?

Facts are facts. The Chinese planes are underpowered with inferior avionics. And Chinese manufacturers have never demonstrated the ability to construct within the tolerances demanded for advanced aircraft. Meanwhile, tofu bridges and buildings continue to collapse and fall over in China. Yep, it's junk.

Hole Lee Fuk, what language are the joint air traffic controllers going to use? smile.png

Wee Tu Low, what language are the pilots going to use? smile.png

"Iceman this is Maverick. Break right."

"Hole Lee Fuk, Maverick, Sum Ting Wong."

Probably best you go for a language course ...sounds like you can only speak English hence the inability to understand :)

The Chinese have been improving ...by leaps and bounds daily and I am unsure what country you may be from

Try making a train line that ferries 1.3 billion people for reliability , try developing your own jumbo jets and create an aviation option besides Boeing and Airbus...the Chinese have ambition and drive and I understand this can be scary for some

For now the Chinese may not have an avionics they can boast of but they are improving every day while there are imperialists which are resting on Maine previous success and think thats final

Sound like someone needs to read the tortoise and the hare story

Could get some good betting going on this!

First to crash into a ditch is definitely heavy odds on Thailand,

Mid air incident hour 1, hour 2 etc. with accumulator bonus...

Run out of fuel/catastrophic failure/getting lost - even money, either side

Accident involving live ammo - 8 to 10, either side

Entire operation is hacked and jets are taken down by anonymous - 3 to 1...

Can we hope for a trifecta!
