D-Max reverse camera

Featured Replies

I have an Isuzu D-Max that I bought new in 2011. It has cameras front and rear. The one in front works only occasionally, but I don't care much because it's not all that useful. However, I really like having the rear camera, though it has become less reliable in recent months. It seems to fail, with just a black screen, in damp weather, though as I said, it has become less reliable in all kinds of weather more recently.

I would like to hear from anyone who has encountered and solved this problem. I'm not an idiot, so, yeah, I can guess that I might open the tailgate and check the connections, etc. The fact that it seems to be associated with damp conditions makes me think it's not a software problem. That reminds me: I did have the soft/ware updated by the dealer earlier this year, hoping that would solve the problem; no such luck. So, please, if you actually know what's up with this, or have a fairly educated guess, I would like to hear from you.

Well, it would seem that based on what you're saying, it's bad wiring/connections or just faulty cameras. Maybe the cameras aren't very well sealed and let moisture in?

In any case, you're talking about 1000-1500 Baht parts - maybe just best to take it to the dealer and get them to sort it out for you? Surely if you have 2 cams failing, they've seen it before....
