Small Fresh Water Shrimp

Featured Replies

A Thai friend lays traps in our local fresh water lake, to catch very small shrimps,

which he then eats while still alive ....( jumping from the bowl )

I think in Thai the name may be ...กุ้งฝอย ( gung foy )

Does any one know which species of small fresh water shrimp they may be...?

Thanks,,,,,

No - - but do know they make an excellent additional to a hot/spicy salad - and yes - straight out the water - the fresher the better.

Tim

Try googling grass shrimp or glass shrimp. Not sure which one.
