Soi LK Metro Miss Loi Krathong

My first Loy Krathong in Phetchabun. I expected spectecular fire balloons in the sky but I got only one in the far distance. It got kind of messy with the fish taking down many beautiful floating merits.

Not as romantic as I pictured but I tossed it in there anyway carrying my nail and hair and prayed for goodluck. It's just something you have to do.

Not allowed anymore...

Those can take down an airplane? Laughable.^

And yes the lanterns can take down a plane. last year in Chiang Mai they had to delay several flights..many many lanterns with fire crackers attached... so now I hear they are banned in a number of the bigger centers.. bugger ..

I say delay the planes for a couple of hours each year !!! rather see the lanterns..

Hey bundycat, I think those "cakes" are biodegradable krathongs for kids. The fish and turtles in the lake eat them. But I know what you mean about coming of age.
