Early Renewal of Retirement Extension at Jomtien - Possible?

Featured Replies

My current retirement extension expires on 29th January 2016. Is there an option to renew early since I will be probably out of Thailand from early January until early February 2016.

Thanks!

NL

Normally it's 30 days but some offices allow up to 45 days early. Just go and ask

Found a topic, where someone did his 40 days early in Jomtien

and here a later one with mixed results

Edit: Bring your plane ticket when you go it COULD smooth things over thumbsup.gif

My retirement extension always expires on 1st March and I always renew it in January - this year on 14th Jan, so I don't think you will have any problems.

I hate leaving things like this until the last moment - like to be prepared for the worst, just in case...

Thanks for digging those links out MJCM. I can easily do it any time in December so < 30 days but I will drop by and ask Immigration directly

Good to hear Mobi and very glad to see your still alive and kicking as well!

I did mine 35 days early, but the lady at the desk told me next time to do it at the 30 day mark...?

As many will take you it is different mostly from office to office, In Jomtien, before the guy behind desk 6, came the lady in charge had no problem over 30 days. This guy sticks to the 30 days, unless you bring a Airline ticket supporting why you are doing it early since as noted in your case you will not be here. I did this last year... Don't forget once you make the renew your old visa entry stamp if you have a multi is void, so you need to get a new one.

Thirty days for sure at Jomtien .A few days more possible on a good day with travel documents

Thanks for all the comments and links to real-life experiences at Jomtien with this specific request. I will check with the agent I used last year as well as making a personal inquiry.
