Non O visa extension and 90 day reporting overlap

Featured Replies

This is the first time my 90 day reporting was due on the same day I received NON-O Visa Extension. I assumed appling for the non-o ext qualifies as a 90 day report since you provide the proof of address. So I just got a call from the immigration officer who claims I need to pay a 4000THB fine for late reporting (due date for last 90 day report and visa extension - Oct. 20, sent my 90 day report on Dec. 1). Any point to confront them? Would appreciate any advice.

Both run independent. Only the first extension counts as 90 day's report. Don't try it with logic, wont work ;)

The fine for late reporting is 2000B, not 4000.

Daniel your post doesn't make much sense. Something about due date for your last last 90 day report and visa extension - Oct. 20, sent my 90 day report on Dec. 1?

Are you on a ED visa that is extended every 90 days? Most of us are on retirement or marriage visas that have annual extensions. Oh well, it doesn't matter, as MadMac said, the visa extension "clock" and 90 day report "clock" operate independently.

(Hey has anyone told you about the TM 30 report? Do you have a receipt for that report in your passport? That's another mind-blowing Imm. requirement.) Maybe the 4000 baht fine is 2000 baht for being late on the 90 day report and 2000 baht for not having a TM30 on file.

Sorry for not making myself clear. Though you guys have answered my question. Will have to pay the fine and learn the lesson.

I assumed appling for the non-o ext qualifies as a 90 day report since you provide the proof of address.

90 day report is not really an address report. In most offices now they just read the bar code on your last report slip and issue a new one.

As said above extensions of stay and 90 day reports are two different issues and, at least in the larger offices, would be done by different officials.
