craigt3365 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I just ran across this. Kinda like the Google one. What do you guys think? Seems pretty cool and picked up some airlines I've not seen on other aggregators before. https://en.skypicker.com/
petermik Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Much prefer Skyscanner/Lastminute.com..............trusted and established
craigt3365 Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 I don't normally use these sites for booking. Only for research. I like the map feature and found some airlines that don't show up on Skyscanner. Plus, for planning, it's nice to see the map with listed airfares. Seems easy to use when looking for cheaper alternatives????
KhunBENQ Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Just did a quick test on an example from a recent thread. BKK <> SYD, 1 MARCH 2016 to 8 MARCH 2016 Indeed an astonishing selection of cheap "backpaper" options with very long stopovers, e.g. at the very unpopular Manila. Who fancys ... If you filter for "direct flight only" then you see the same lack as with Kayak. Emirates for 439 GBP shown, Thai Airways for the same price not shown. I suppose there is nothing like THE one and only search engine. But this skypicker seems like a nice addition for the adventurous.
KittenKong Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Interesting, but only shows prices up to 6 months ahead (unlike the usual 11 months or more) and doesnt seem to have a filter for first/business/premium classes. If you use the price filter to weed out cheaper fares in the hope of getting it to show the business class fares it just says "no fares found". Skyscanner certainly does not include all airlines, nor do Netflights or Matrix/Ita.
craigt3365 Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 I might be going to Ashgabat to visit relatives there in early summer. Not an easy destination. One routing had 3 stops, but it was cheap! I'll pass....55555 Worth the extra $$$$ to go direct. But the map is neat if you aren't stuck on a particular destination, and open to cheaper alternatives.

I don't generally fly economy and I am always on the look out for business class specials.
expatbrit Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 This new engine is a gimmick ! From what I can see using a search for fights from to Perth Australia is that it come up with very cheap options which extend a 6 7 hour flight into a 24 hour + marathon with humongous layovers. Or it finds very expensive flights which no one in their right mind would purchase. I will stick with skyscanner and the airlines own web pages.

Momondo partially does, but all the details about airline prices and the prices in the graphics are based on economy tickets even if you select business.
