Guys, i want to ask if any good reasonable hotels in Kuala Lumpur around the central part, where Bukit Bintang area, Jalan Ampang, central market, or in between that areas, average price of 1000 - 1500 THB equivalent,

as I read before, there is a booking online via Thai visa, and pay when stay,

any recommendation and advises about this will be highly appreciated,

Kind regards

Safari hotel seemed ok, we only visited. Ambong, Ambon, and Ampang seem to be all the same place?

(Edit) Whoops sorry, I saw you wrote ฿1000. You'll not find much at that price, KL is expensive.

Why not stay in KLCC? Pay a bit more, save on taxi and spend on hotel. Novotel and Pullman are at the Pavillion. KL is not expensive on good hotels like Mandarin, ShangriLa, Hyatt or Traders. I booked yesterday the Traders again for my next KL trip.

Jalan Ampang next to Thai Emb.,the Lanson is not to bad with big appartments.

In China Town you will find hotels in the 1000 bath level.

I stay at the Soleil (used to be the Radius – http://www.hotelsoleilbb.com). About 1,100 baht (US$30). Not new but in good condition. Large rooms. Comfortable bed and furniture. Large bathroom. Good wifi. Large pool. Superb location in the heart of everything. Short walk to Bukit Bintang monorail, malls, Food Street (Jalan Alor) from 6 pm every night, etc. Ask for a room on the pool side as the main street side (Changkat Bukit Bintang) is noisy because of a bunch of bars pumping out foul music 9 pm - 3 am. And don't pay extra for breakfast. Not worth it. Instead eat in one of the wonderful eateries the area is full of, including SK Corner right across the street (Jalan Tong Shin). Otherwise upgrade to something a bit more glamorous if that's important to you. KL is fantastic value, especially after this year's big devaluation and the ringgit at 4.20 to the US$.

I just got back from KL a couple of days ago.

I stayed at Hotel Melange just off Bukit Bintang. Very good location next to the food street and all the nightlife. It's a brand new hotel, not even any reviews on Agoda yet. I paid equivalent 1000 baht for a single room including a decent breakfast on Agoda. I would stay there again next time.

Plenty of good clean hotels around the Bukit Bintang area .... pay around B1,500 and you will get something that suites. Best idea is to get a cab there and then walk around and choose which is suitable.

Don't go cheaper than that or you'll end up with a room with no windows.
