Hi

I hope someone can help me i thought i had the situation undercontrol however i am just getting more confused. Plenty of Info on Thais nothing re cambodia i can find

I want to apply for a tourist Visa for a Girl to come to Australia for up to 3 months

We met six months ago she was Working in Bangkok for BHIP selling products and has since gone back home to the farm

I am traveling to Cambodia next month for 3 weeks and was hoping to apply direct with the Australian Embassy but i am not really sure how to go about it.

I have photos, phone records, letter of invitation, copies of my bak statements, payslips etc

she has her passport, and i understand that she needs a bio metrics test which where where going to do in Phnom Penh

I don't know if she needs a police clearance and if so what type

I really would appreciate any assistance or pointing to someone who can help

Thanks in Advance

Get your gf to apply on-line, details below.

A lot of the stuff you think you need to supply as you have outlined in your OP is not required.

The Visa is about her, not you.

Good luck with it.

Luke

For a tourist visit a police certificate is not required.

+1

Also, available to do on-line now-a-days ... so much simpler then before.

Click - http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/600-/Visitor-e600-visa-online-applications#

Good luck with the application.

The most important thing is to include a statement from you stating that you will pay for accommodation, expenses etc. The reason why she is going, the itinerary, and whatever else you can think of that will provide a valid reason for the trip, and that she will exit Australia after so many weeks, your relationship, family want to meet her etc. I just got a visa for similar situation. Application must be done through vfs, not embassy and they offer little guidance, say up to you what you provide, state. Answer in phom penh will take about 4 to 6 weeks and if application successful will have a must leave by date, usually within 6 weeks of approval. There is no entry im passport, just an email with a code to enter.

thanks for the help guys especially the police clearance that was the thing that really through me, i thought i was on the right track and then came across another site with a whole other list of requirements but i think i am on the right track again

Just one question on the 1419 form where it asks if you received any assistance in completing the form , obviously i will be helping her, do i answer yes or is it best to say no

No, don't bother stating that help was received.

BTW, despite the advice above, it doesn't only have to be done to the VFS, that advice is probably well intended, but mis-informed.

You can do it on-line. Cambodia is on the applicable list.

Just an update , once i was clear what to provide it was a reality easy process. She got the visa and is here with me now.

Thanks for all those that gave advice, as when i posted i was at the point of throwing my arms up in the air as it was too hard
