Opening of new Phuket underpass to be delayed again

PHUKET: -- The project engineer in charge of construction of the Samkong underpass has indicated that further delays are expected for the opening with rain being sighted as the reason.

KRABI: -- Four men were arrested in Khao Panom, Krabi yesterday (Dec 16) following the fatal shooting of three men including a police officer from Thungsong at a disputed palm oil plantation. The three were shot dead when they attempted to deliver an eviction notice to the plantation owner.

76-year-old man dies of heart failure beside bonfire in Nakhon Ratchasima

KORAT: -- A 76-year-old man in Nakhon Ratchasima died of heart failure early Thursday after he drank and lit up a fire to warm himself, police said.

The man was identified as Thong Karnmuay, a resident of Moo 4 village in Tambon Nikhom of Pimai district.

His wife, Kham Karnmuay, said last night the temperature dropped so her husband came outside the house to light a fire to warm himself.

Police said the man had drunk and fell asleep beside the fire and was found dead early morning.

NMG petitions court for further remedies for NBTC’s lax transition to digital
