PHUKET: -- Police have ruled that two men killed in a police chase, the alleged catalyst for the Thalang Police Station riot in October, was an accident.

Patomwat Panarak, 22, and Teerapong Srisamut, 17, were killed after fleeing a police check point on October 9. Officers crashed their car into the men’s motorbike in an attempt to stop and apprehend them (story here).

Both men died at the scene, where police found fifty ya ba (methamphetamine) pills in their possession.

"...the alleged catalyst for the Thalang Police Station riot..."

Yeah, I think we can go beyond the ridiculous use of this over-used word "alleged", unless they were rioting because the motorbike they were driving was totaled.

"...Officers crashed their car into the men’s motorbike in an attempt to stop and apprehend them..."

Well golly, if this statement is true, then I'm a bit mystified how they came up with "accident". Oh right, it was the police investigating themselves.

Of course it was an accident. The police did a full investigation asking themselves if

it was an accident. All police questioned, reported it was an accident. Time to move

on to the next police investigation. tongue.png
