Does anybody have contact details for a place to learn how to sail? Pattaya would be ideal, but if there are great deals elsewhere, that would be ok.

Gulf Charters run IYT acredited courses from crew to bareboat skipper. I think all courses are about 5 days, 30,000Bath usually in Pattaya or Koh Chang.

If you really want to get the hang of the basics of sailing, the Royal Varuna is the place to be!

Although becoming a member is quite costly, thay also have alternative plans for short term stayers. I think a tempory member pays 5000 Baht/month, giving you access to all the facilities and boatrentals...

Last I checked a sailng course was 10,000 Baht, given over 5 weekends.

This is also a good place to mingle with Thai sailing enthousiasts, they have quite some members from the Royal Thai navy as well!
