North Pole hots up as El Nino shakes up world weather

COPENHAGEN: -- It seems things are hotting up in the North Pole. As El Nino shakes up weather around the world, forecasters predicted temperatures of up to minus two degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

The average for this time of year is normally around minus 30 Celsius.

Low pressure sends warm air all the way to the North, explained Jesper Theilgaard, a Danish meteorologist.

“Then it can’t really go to places other than Svalbard,” he added, “then it turns north of Greenland and to the North Pole.”

It is unclear how warm it has actually got in the North Pole on Wednesday, as there is no weather equipment there that can give precise temperatures.

The North Pole Environmental Observatory provides some observational data.

There is a concern that warming weather could have a big impact on ice formation.

“When it’s warmer on the surface, and water is produced, and then freezes again, all of the layer is heated up,” explained Prof. Dorthe Dahl-Jensen, from the Niels Bohr Institute in Denmark.

“It prevents the layer from being so thick during the winter, even though it gets cold again. This way it heats up even more, there will be less ice the following year.”

Higher than normal temperatures have been reported across Europe and the US.

El Nino is a natural phenomenon and normally happens every two to seven years.

A little bit closer to home, it sure seems to have affected the winter temperatures here in Thailand. In over 10 years, this is the warmest winter I remember.

what part of Thailand are you in?

down here in Hua Hin we have had months of cool weather. it is really wonderful.

the Thai ladies are shivering and wearing sweaters.

I have been in Hua Hin several times over the last few months. Was there just yesterday. It may have gone down to 24, by 3am. I have experienced maybe only a few comfortable nights. It has been way hotter than normal, for this time of year. If the temp drops to 23 the ladies are shivering. That is not much of an indicator.

There are them that accept that global warming is a reality and there are those that don't. Nothing much will change that.

A few hundred million years of paleo-climatology and solar-cycle data on one side; a few hundreds of billions dollars to be made in carbon credit trading on the other side.

What's to understand?

I live in rural Khampaeng Phet next to the Mae Wong national park and It was a nice cool 19C at 7am this morning.

"its unclear how warm" it really got... Jeez, this is a perfect example of the meaningless drivel that now passes for science or reason in "Climate Change." The political party of Climate Change actually exist on imaginary data or non sequitar claims. They know how warm it got up there but publishing it would require them to also tell you it will return to normal temps next week. Anyone who has ever seen a MET map on TV knows how the trade and other winds and systems move across the planet, particularly in the North.

Also, "big impact on ice formation" indeed. There is now more polar ice than in recent memory. You don't know this, do you. Watch this hand while I pull a coin from behind your ear.

Media is an integral part of the delusion of the Climate Change ideology. Western universities, journalism, and policy makers, long steeped in liberal ideology, became united behind this fallacious phenomena in the 70s when it fully realized its potential to delude the world and act as a vector- a carrier- for socialist ideology. Climate Change is not also an ideology that can combat this imaginary phenomena of human climate problems, it is solely an ideology (a cursory review of their policies reveal human contribution to the problem they allege is in single digit % for impact, but the political pogroms are formed anyway. At the core of Climate Change is massive transfers of wealth).

Climate Change is near entirely devoid of facts, peer review, and near entirely sustained by scandal, fudged data, and demonization- and repetition of those who disagree (a long staple of Leftists). Media long ago demonstrated they lost interest is headlines such as "Weather Unremarkable Next Week" and instead inadvertently motivated those with claims such as "Earth Ends Next Week Due To Floods." In time the media interest became pure collusion. This is why Climate Change history of claims includes promises that we will soon be underwater; we will not be underwater; we will soon be melting; we will soon be cooling, ad infinitum. Chasing funds and feeding the media machine for sensationalism, now second generation scientists (effectively creating a religion of their own "Scientism") are born and raised in the liberal fruit punch of Climate Change; they would otherwise find zero funding, and few media outlets to report conclusions that offered the truth, yet the science does it exist. It just has little publicity.

So, Climate Change history is full of reports promising flooding soon, and reports promising no flooding soon. Reports insisting we will soon melt, and reports stating we will freeze to death. No matter the weather pattern Climate Change punch drinkers can now pull any study out and say "See, we told you." Snow? No snow? Rain? No Rain? Heat? Cold? Wind? ISIS? Volcano? Hurricane? ... all Climate Change.

Climate Change is a protective amulet the left wields that basically tells others to "Shut the ___k up" while they overtly package their political agenda. Increasingly, their intolerance is manifest with calls to silence "deniers" and other pejoratives, but mostly it is evident in how their self echo chambers never invite those numerous scientists who know they are "full of ___t!" The science is overwhelming that Climate Change is folly. In fact, science will have a very hard time recovering the enormous loss of credibility. Another reliable manner to deduce the truth of Climate Change seems counter intuitive but revealing- look at the misanthropes that scream "Climate Change." Consider all the other policies they offer and how badly they have fz_#d up the world. Why would anyone suppose they have this correct?

My wife up near Chiang Mai always tells me it is too cold when I call her.

It's supposed to be a drought in NZ, but I guess they forgot to inform the weather god of that. Was raining for over 24 hours.
