PM keeps his promise to be less talkative with reporters

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has kept his New Year’s promise to be less talkative with the media by spending just 2.47 minutes with reporters at the Government House yesterday (Monday).

After thanking officials concerned for their cooperation in ensuring law and order during the New Year’s festival, the prime minister told reporters at the Government House that the drink driving ban and the seizure of vehicles of the drink drivers would be carried on as the measure has become law.

However, he hinted that the measure might be modified with the driving licenses of the drink drivers to be seized instead of their vehicles.

But when asked by a reporter whether he feel worried with some astrologers’ prediction of political troubles this year, the prime minister declined to answer and gave them a wave as he headed back to his office at the Thai Koofah building.

The face-to-face meeting with the media lasted only two minutes 47 seconds, according to the reporters.

I wish he would do the same w/ Farcebookers clicking a Like button...Just ignore it.

Some astrologer probably told him he's not much of a charismatic orator though is why he's keeping his trap shut - so far.

Pretending he is learning to be like other world leaders by publicly ignoring such questions is one thing.

Anyone get that reporters name?

See if she is not a victim herself of some misfortune.

TJA ( Thai journalists association ) have complained about being detained and threatened and made to sign forms regards freedoms to report .

Him appearing to be a regular thick skinned Joe isn't going to cut.

Not while privately he extracts revenge and has ""attitude adjustment camps"

Every little piece of Thai spin is designed to kid the world it's a every day hum drum place to come spend a relaxing holiday.

Endless articles to reinforce normalcy .

Polls that are designed to show love and approval.( of this military junta)

But the articles about people getting arrested , lowest tier level for human abuses , death camps uncovered, military involvement, and LM laws , media restrictions , and patsy death sentences do little to endear the more discerning holidaymaker.

Meanwhile some reporters are being warned by the good leader to not wear bikinis or provocative clothes in order to return happiness to the molesters that struggle keeping out of trouble

does this include his Friday spincasts?

No those are his real connections to ""the people"" the golden 99% who hate the journalists and their western ways of not knowing real Thainess .

They faithfully love him and enjoy each utterance .

My only hope is enough requests come in to encourage him to end each show with a song he wrote .

Maybe wheel out the military choir to back him up.?

Jesus never had 99%

Maybe he is Jesus ?

Or a Thai version

Where is John English ( the baptist ?)

Ain't it great just being able to issue an Article 44 (the magic wan) to make new laws. Don't need any elected representatives involvement....just make it happen...wave the magic wan.

YEP, in other words, our dear PM AND his Army will silence the crucial and most critical media figures in advance with very well known, not-so-social-sophisticated measurements.....................................

I haven't read such a weird statement since my birth in 1960.

Considering that most drive "without" one anyways and pay song reu here and there a fantastic idea. You're the man. thumbsup.gif

In his new year speech he mentioned that his self improvement for the new year was to not get angry with reporters. The guy knows his short comings, or maybe someone further up the power chain has criticised him for it?

At the end of the speach there was a banner on tv implying this government is going to be in power until 2020. Put it this way: there was a year range: 2016 - 2020.

the last time the Thai people replaced a military proxy government with an elected government, that government did not make it to a full 3 years.

If the self-appointed "PM" sticks to this week's roadmap, then the junta will be keeping power for well over 3 years...

If... a big if. ... coffee1.gif

So 2020 doesn't seem like much of a stretch goal for team-junta, does it?
