Reported on the Phuket Gazette website, and a big shock to me (since we both are the same age and work in similar businesses in Phuket). John died of a heart attack a few days ago.

John's company provides me with the only decent internet connection I have found in Phuket.

His death brought many tears to my eyes, even though we had never met. 48 is just too young to die.

I never met the chap. Apparently there is drinks/memorial thingy at Watermark tonight, 7-9pm.

On the front page of this weeks Phuket gazette (online), they announced his death; then on the IT page that had an article written by him with contact numbers if anyone had any queries.

Sloppy editing.

It would not be sloppy editing, it takes a couple of days to print the paper and I believe he died after they had gone to print.
