Motorbike taxis

What is a reasonable price for a motorbike taxi per km these days.

I am not local so not know a fair rate for around here.

I think 100 baht is unreasonable for 2.5km.

Never heard of them going by the Km, not as if they have a meter fitted and probably wouldn't use it anyway, you ask a price and you take it or leave it!

I normally pay 40 baht for most trips around central pattaya..

Up to your to discuss the price for you get on the bike. Or take the chance, give them 100baht and wait to see what change he gives you...

2.5km (eg, central Pattaya to Beach Rd via 2nd Rd and Dolphin roundabout) is 40-50 Baht.

Central Pattaya to Jomtien is approx 100 Baht.

Central Pattaya to Nernpleubwan / khao Noi is 120 Baht.

Central Pattaya to Mapbrachan Lake approx 200 Baht.

Very short distances expect to pay 30-40 Baht.

No, there wasn't.

They were required to be registered motorbike taxis. You'll notice the ones that have bothered doing that, they have an ID badge on the back of their jackets.

Without digging back through old news items I am sure there was a crackdown by the army... lasted a few weeks.

from central patty rd . to soi 5 in jomtien is 60 baht, so 40 baht in centraL PATTS SHOULD BE GOOD , BUT NEGOTIATE

Should be 30B if it is only 2.5km...

But there again do the Motorbike taxis comply with the law?
