I went to Phuket immigration last month to extend my tourist visa a month.

I just checked into a new apartment building and only now realized that they didn't stamp the passport. I was planning on heading to exit on Monday.

Luckly I still have the receipt so it shows I did pay for the extension.

I'm in Chiang Mai, should I go to immigration on Monday or just try and exit?

Everything is recorded so there should not be a problem if you have the reciept but do double check you arent looking in the wrong place as suggested...go to immigration here not to an exit until uou sort it.

Some off topic posts and replies to them have been removed.

The OP has not replied back yet. Maybe he found the hidden stamp.

Im on a O Visa extension Have been for years. When I come in from the airport I ALWAYS tell the immigration officer where my stamps are so he enters the right re entry stamp

They are always appreciative of it since my book is very full

Agree, you should always check the stamps. A couple of times over the years I've been stamped in on arrival with incorrect dates, and immediately got it changed to the correct date.

Actually, it is your fault

Always check passport for stamp, date, expiry etc before leaving, including airports

Yes, it often seems harsh being told that someone else's shortcomings are your fault but in this case it's true, we have to take responsibility and check that things are done properly, we are dealing with people who turn up for work and often watch clock until time for home and failing to stamp passport = no consequences for them and possibly big headache for you-bet you check in future. I hope this will be easily rectified. Best wishes

I guess it's just wishful thinking to expect IO s to do their job properly......TIT

Given the huge numbers of people dealt with by the IO's every day it is, perhaps, not surprising that the occasional error occurs. Such errors are easily corrected if people would just check what they had been given.

Have you never, ever, made an error ?

uhmm. not checking your passport for any "changes" is not exactly someone else's fault. your passport, your responsibility. i almost learned this the hard way. several years ago, i was on my first visa extension and entered Thailand via DMK (no swampy yet) from MNL. the officer stamped 30 days on my passport. i pointed out the officer's mistake right away, he gave me a smile, and the correct stamp on my passport. no apologies, but i got my 200+ visa days on my passport.
