How to stop them from making so much noise ?

Personally i don't think they are any worse than the Thai's. At least they are not running around in loudspeaker trucks blaring out useless adverts or playing god knows how many megawatts music for too many night time hours. !

Shhhhhh followed by a loud "bow bow fr**king noi" is effective. They do not understand all the words but seem to get the message very quickly and respond with quiet talk and prompt departure.

The Chinese blame their very loud speaking on the noise all around them. One guy told me they have to shout over the noise of the constantly blaring bus/truck/car horns, which go for 18 hours a day in some areas.

As the op can speak Chinese and is offering to Sshh them all, 80,000 additional arrivals for the CNY, plus the few thousand that have taken up residence, lets take up the offer and see how effective it is.

"Noisy " is a very popular word on Chiang Mai forum,we have loud,Air planes,speaker trucks,

temples,Karaoke,building sites,Malls,dogs,and now Chinese !

fortunately, i'm a fairly big guy. i yield half the path and after that it's shoulder to shoulder. had a couple manly jousts yesterday

If you mean loud Americans when they are drunk, maybe so, but the fact is that the Chinese are arrogant and completely dismissive of others ALL THE TIME.

Americans don't even touch the hem of the Chinese.
