The sun has started to break down the oils in the padded vinyl covering around my three beds and headboards, so that the plastic has a sticky feel. I need to get them re-upholstered, hopefully in some sort of UV resistant vinyl.

Can anyone recommend a good furniture upholsterer on the island please? I have seen the work from one somewhere in Maenam, and to be honest, the stitching wasn't up to much.

Thanks.

I've used one in Maenam for a smaller job on a chair, which he did nice and for a reasonable price – he quoted me 500 baht all inclusive, but when I came for my chair the price changed to 350 only, as the job was not as difficult as expected. thumbsup.gif

If it's not the same you are thinking of, then "mine" is a small shop opposite the Santibury entrance.

I can second that shop. Just discovered it recently when I had some boat trampolines needing repair. He did a very nice job, having used UV resistant sunbrella cloth for reinforcements and UV resistant thread. And very affordable.
