BANGKOK, 28 February 2016 (NNT) - A vice president of the National Legislative Assembly expressed his support for the proposal to set up mechanism to help with Thailand’s political transition.

NLA’s Second Vice President Peerasak Porjit said that the mechanism to be put in place while the country is moving towards the democratic rule, which includes the enforcement of the new Constitution in two separate periods, is not an attempt to retain power by those in office now.

Mr. Peerasak added that, while the United Nations has suggested that Thailand should organize the general election as soon as possible, the poll can only take place after the draft Constitution passes the public referendum and is put into effect.

He added that the amendment of the 2014 Provisional Constitution will take place soon in order to pave the way for the public referendum of the new draft charter.

I do not care about any mechanism.
95% of all thai people are nice and honest (as in any other country).
But against the last 5%, which like to steal from the state coffers and are real bandits, the silk gloves should be removed.
Some of these bad 5% apparently have good connections and can buy themselves out of their iniquities.

If that were stopped, then Thailand as a whole would really evolve.

enforcement of the new Constitution in two separate periods

First period - overt control by the NCPO

Second period - covert control by the NCPO

No we are definitely certainly not buying subs. A couple weeks later its a done deal. So much for trust and truth. Yes we are here to hold your hand through the whole transition process. We may just hold your hand a littler longer than what you think. Slip handcuffs on you? don't talk ridiculous.
