exchange large amount of THB to USD in Phuket

Featured Replies

Hi, I need to change a large (for me) amount of THB 800,000to USD, I would like to do this in Phuket, as I'm flying out from there. I usually use Super Rick in BKK, but I am going to be Phuket next week and would like to take care of this.

I have checked, and there is only old information here. Has anyone had experience with this recently? Where is the best rate? Safest place? to exchagne THB to USD If you have a phone number for the exchange you used, please provide it. Thanks and Cheers for any help!

There used to be a good place in the banking area at Central. Maybe not quite as good as SuperRich but better than the others.

It will be very difficult to find that much USD at a branch bank anywhere, even money changers may not have enough to hand, it needs to be ordered and collected.

Why not use

NS money changers behind Robinsons. They can handle large amounts of cash

It's actually called NC Plus.

It is quite rare for them, or any other changers, to have large amounts of foreign currency available - but sometimes it happens; a matter of luck.

You need to usually inform them, in advance, how much you need and they will do their best to get it for you, over several days or even weeks. They won't guarantee you a rate for more than one day in my experience. So it can be quite tricky if you have a rate in mind, if you know what I mean.

i did the same thing last year, money changers at Central seemed the best, banks were a pain in the a..
