hdkane Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Hello to Everyone...I want to take my gf to a comedy club...I've looked around online and I can find a few that cater to English speakers...but are there comedy clubs that target a Thai audience? Most of the information I can find seems to focus on the comedian Note Udom...but he doesn't perform regularly, I believe...I know that I probably won't be able to understand the sense of humor much, but I think it would be a nice diversion... related to this query...what is the best website to find out what's going on in BKK or other areas (e.g., Pattaya)? Not all performers use ThaiTicketMajor...I'd really like to see some of the popular Thai performers (e.g., Sek Loso or Groove Riders), just to have a better appreciation of the culture, people, and society...but I cannot find them... any help would be appreciated...
7000gods Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I use these for going out...maybe of some interest... http://www.royaloakthailand.com/entertainment.php http://bk.asia-city.com/advanced_search/events?category=11338&date_filter[value][date]=&date_filter_1[value][date]=
dddave Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 http://www.comedyclubbangkok.com/ Above the Royal Oak, Suk 33/1 Check schedule. Some very good performers...a few duds as well.
jacky54 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 You really don't need to go anywhere, the whole country is a comedy club, laughs every day
Rumblecat Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 http://www.comedyclubbangkok.com/ Above the Royal Oak, Suk 33/1 Check schedule. Some very good performers...a few duds as well. They don't see to have any Thai comedians though. He's looking for a comedy club that caters to a Thai audience.
colinneil Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Comedy club. Have you tried government house? That place is full of comedians.
dddave Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Maybe check the listings in Coconuts.com or BKMagazine. Used to go to a large one on Rama-9 called "Phra Ram Ghow"...Unfortunately, now closed. All the popular local comedians would show up any given night...do a set or two, then go out and get drunk with the others in the parking lot. Real slap-stick, pie in the face, dwarf tossing kind of stuff. They loved it when they had a farang in the audience...especially one with his Isan GF...they were merciless......
