Spirits Cheaper In Bkk Than Australia? Where To Buy?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I've been reading the topics in this forum about the customs crackdown at the new airport, and it sounds like it isn't worth buying duty-free cigs (get them in Thailand), but I'm wondering about the alcohol side of things.

I'm flying to BKK from Brisbane next Friday (3/11/06), and I'm wondering if I should bother buying duty-free Cointreau in Brisbane? Would it be (1) available, and (2) cheaper in Bangkok?

If it is available and cheaper in Bangkok, is it readily available everywhere, or only in selected places?

Thanks,

guidosh...

As a Cointreau drinker of many years I often bring in a litre from Australia as it does work out cheaper, but not all that much. I buy Cointreau locally for around 980 baht a 750 ml bottle, and it's available just about everywhere.

Personally I wouldn't bother with cigarettes, as they are cheaper in Thailand!

:o Thanks for that... sounds like I'll be getting it duty-free.
