There do not seem to be many Irons fans on this forum.

The subject of weathe AP should stay or go has been a big one in the press back home this week, especially after the loss at Chesterfield.

Personally I would back him to turn things around at the club, he achieved miricles there last year, getting them to the Cup Final which they almost won and into Europe.

He moulded the team at Reading that Stevie Coppell took over and got them promotion within 18 months of taking the job.

A good manager does not turn into a bad one overnight.

However Allan Curbishley will be looking for a job at the end of the month and I would think that the West Ham board may be interseted in getting him on board (an old West Ham favourite) before he finds employment elsewhere, especially if the hammers do not get anything out of their game with Blackburn today.

Its a bit of a quandry :o

What do you think about it?

Unquestionably, stay.

Fergie and Wenger have both spoken out about this recently, as both could have got the chop before things changed for the better.

I think he should stay, but only because I think it's ridiculous how quickly some managers become under pressure these days.

I think he's a good manager, but inconsistent. Last season he really boosted his reputation, but this season he seems to be flagging somewhat. The season before last (2004 - 05) he got West Ham promoted - but I was reading that it would have been a travesty if West Ham didn't get promoted that season, and Pardew only just managed it by finishing 6th and getting through on the play-offs. For sure he would have been sacked if he didn't win those play-off games.

So, yes, I think he should be allowed to stay, but he currently seems to be in one of his troughs rather than a peak. I think he should be allowed time to get out of it and make West Ham start climbing the table again. I think also many of West Ham's current problems are beyond his control - bringing in those two Argentinians has clearly upset the balance, and all this take-over talk hasn't helped either.
