March 20, 201610 yr "Colonel Pramote said the campaign would be continued until peace has been fully restored in 1,988 villages as targeted." Someone please wake me up and let me know if anyone ever finds peace with those <deleted> Muslims. What a bunch of dreamers. Cheers.
March 20, 201610 yr the campaign would be continued until peace has been fully restored in 1,988 villages as targeted. ISOC working with local people but no success in peace talks with the insurgent groups, notably the BRN, will not produce any long-term solutions to the root cause of the insurgency. It appears the Prayut government has reverted back to the Thaksin era where the military/government strategy was solely a combination of rewards and security for the South to disenfranchise the insurgency. This announcement may be part of a series of successes by the military this year that will cumulate before the end of 2016 in a declaration by the Junta that peace has finally been achieved in the South - as promised by Prayut first in 2014, then in 2015, now in 2016.
March 21, 201610 yr Perfect analogy for doing the same thing and expecting a different results. Insanity comes to mind.
