Valls, Juncker call for Europe-wide cooperation on security

"I also reiterated the urgent need to better fight arms trafficking, the urgent need to adopt a European PNR system, to enable the tracking of terrorists' movements."

BRUSSELS: -- French Prime Minister Manuel Valls joined his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel and the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker as they paused to pay respects at the Maelbeek metro station in Brussels.

Shortly afterwards, both spoke up about the need to work together for the security of Europe.

Valls renewed France’s calls for a Passenger Name Record system to be set up for European air travel.

What is needed, Valls said, is:
“Systematic border controls in the Schengen area, deployment of European border guards; I also reiterated the urgent need to better fight arms trafficking, the urgent need to adopt a European PNR system, to enable the tracking of terrorists’ movements.”

Juncker, too, called for Europe-wide cooperation.

“We also think we need to work together towards unified security. The Commission has proposed all the constituent elements for such a union of security. I would ask the Council of Ministers not to yield to the mounting pressure of lobbyists and instead to keep in mind the essential – what must be done.”

An extraordinary meeting of the European Union’s interior ministers has been scheduled for Thursday, March 24, to compose the bloc’s response to the Brussels attacks.

Good luck with that. To track a terrorist he must have been previously identified as a terrorist.

It appears that Europe / the EU does not have a very good track record in this regard. The emergence of details about the Brussels bombers seems to confirm this.

Best of luck, you are going to need it.

The talking heads on TV go on and on about how dedicated, sophisticated, clever and supremely organized the terrorists are. Too often they almost trip over each other attempting to compliment and reinforce these malignant nutcases.

They further harp about how panic stricken everyone is, how helpless the authorities are, and how there’s absolutely nothing beyond data base searches that be done about it all. Basically advising the public to embrace the role of ‘victim’ and give these psychopaths exactly what they want. They want to see victims; they want to see herds of sheep.

We can’t go on being purely reactive, endlessly wringing our hands and whining about how terribly we’re being treated. We also need to realize that wondering ‘why?’ singing songs and lighting candles is not going to accomplish anything. Not unless we want to continue being compliant participants in our own destruction.

Since we can’t physically protect all the people and all the potential targets all of the time…the only real solution is to take the war to the terrorists. Wherever they are…with whatever means necessary…to whatever degree necessary…and whatever the cost!

There’s no other option.

Juncker should put down his sippy-cup of gin and wake up to reality.

As the Polish prime minister stated today: What happened in Bruxelles has strengthened our conviction NOT to let any muslim-migrants into our country.

Might be a good example for all European countries to follow, we don't need megalomaniac Junker's input on this, calling " for an ever closer union".

The EU has failed abysmally by not defending our outer borders against terrorists flooding into the continent, (over 400, according to IS) and in my view has therefore lost any right to have an opinion on the matter.

They are going to need a much, much tougher set of laws put in place to allow tracking and holding of terrorist suspects. The Malaysian emergency measures come to mind. EU laws are too soft on criminals and insufficient to help them deal with the shit storm that is coming their way. I really feel sorry for them they are in a dirty fight with their hands tied behind their back.

The politicians talk always after an attack the same stupid stuff.
All the measures mentioned in the article are only cosmetics to calm down the ordinary people.
Apparently, the security forces have been warned of the attacks in Brussels.
Prevents, it has nothing.

Why not the European countries declaring martial law, limited for 3 months?
When is the end reached with the rights of individual freedom, when the entire population is at risk?
It is disgusting that our laws protect these bombers, and make the preparation and execution of attacks so easy for them.

The intelligence and security forces have the names of tens of thousands Jihad sympathizers in Europe.
Why are not house searchings carried massiv out?

This would drive the rats out of their holes and at least disrupt the support network.
Or do those in charge do waiting again idly for the next attack?

Why is Mrs Merkel remaining so quiet?

Go on Angela - advocate for a European police force, security service and border guards, all centrally controlled and commanded by Germany. That should do it - nicht wahr?

When the U.S administration complains about lack of intelligence sharing from Belgium it must be bad. A US administration which itself seems unable to use the word jihad. But what should we expect from the nerve center of the terminally deluded and dysfunctional E.U.

In case the significance is not obvious, an area with no border controls is only as strong as its weakest link. I hope the Brexit campaign is taking note after the ridiculous scaremongering that the UK is supposedly safer inside the EU.

"the need to work together for the security of Europe."

Translated:

Lock down the EU countries and impose Machiavellian security measures on native citizens while continuing to allow the flood of incoming Middle Eastern and North African immigrants who are looking to cash in on the largess of the richest Socialistic nanny-states, live in isolated Sharia zones, and plan more of the same society destroying mischievousness. Sounds like a plan.
