I have a copy of Paiboon's Thai-English Dictionary http://www.paiboonpublishing.com/details.php?prodId=36

Besides having great content, I love it because I can read it without putting on glasses. I am not sure it is large print enough for you needs, but perhaps you can check a copy if you have a large bookstore of university library nearby.

Warning: the copy I have does not look like the one in the link. My copy has a cover that looks like the Thai-English Talking Dictionary for Windows computers. Not sure this one has the same print size as mine.

the problem is the Thai daa dek's vs. dtaa dtao's saa soo vs. chaa chang etc ; with time maybe that would be more obvious, but it slows me down quite a bit , maybe i can buy a more powered mag glass or somethign

As Maestro writes: for the online dictionaries it is easy to magnify the display.

And even in normal size the popular thai2english is fairly well readable.

thailanguage, com is highly configurable ("Site settings").

A bit complicated but it allows about any size for Thai text.

A screenshot after setting standard Thai text to 30 pt or so.

Edit: just see that the above size is standard for a single dictionary entry anyway.

If I pass by an Asia Books store I can drop in and see what dictionary with large Thai font they have. What minimum height are you looking for, for example for the letters ด and ต?

thx but as i said, i have beckers dict on my phone, and i'm not wanting a computer dict, more than i use already, trying to go back to writing with a pen, and a paper dictionary , as i think this method has merits lost with the touch and type world

though, i'm in that world too , i feel my memory works better with the physical

re: minimal font size, not sure , just something like 12+ ? that doesn't require a magnifying glass , i can sort out the 1st letter from the consonent / vowel orders usually but my paper book thai dict, also has long description of the word in thai, and it's almost unusable for 50 year old eyes, and damn tedious to use a magnifying glass for long , etc

What I am pointing out is that Paiboon has a hardcopy dictionary that will be very familiar to you if you already have their PC version. It is not cheap, about US$15

re: minimal font size, not sure , just something like 12+ ? that doesn't require a magnifying glass...

That would be 1/6 of an inch, about 4.2 mm. Too much to ask of a dictionary, even in hard cover edition, into which so much text gets crammed. Just the same, I'll look around this afternoon, as I am going walkabout now.

Couldn't find the Paiboon or any other Thai-English-Thai dictionary coming close to your specifications. I looked in Asia Books in Terminal 21, Silom Complex and Thaniya Plaza in Bangkok. It seems that book stores have no more demand for these dictionaries, with everybody looking things up on the Internet.
