Colonoscopy in Pattaya!

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a Dr. and Hospital in Pattaya for a routine colonoscopy? BPH is at the top the list. Any experience, Dr. recommendations much appreciated! Keep on Living!

Just read somewhere that Checking for blood (microscopic) in the stool is as good. And it must be a lot cheaper. I am due again. I will be talking to docs about this.

No, it is not. Polyps do not always bleed. And by the time a polyp is causing pain it can be cancerous.

There is now a blood test for tumor markers that is around 70% accurate. I got a triple-threat blood test checking for tumors of the stomach, colon and prostate. It cost around $100. It's better than having those scopes stuffed down your throat or up your butt. Not 100% though.

Prices will be high. Suggest you email Gavin Wadell at Phyathai Sri Racha and ask about rates there: [email protected]

The blood test for tumor markets mentioned has very low specificity i.e. high rate of false positives as many conditions other than intesyinal cancer can elevate it. It is also mote elevated in all cancers so sensitivity is also low. For which reason it is not recommended for screening purposes.
