Anyone see a noticeable restriction of water over Songkrahn?

Featured Replies

I didn't in Khon Kaen, in fact worse than ever. We're supposed to be nearly out of water here and they've just thrown 100s of 1000s of gallons on the roads. Must be a frustrating country to govern

Yes but people had fun which is what counts ....... If you are a Thai. Never a thought for tomorrow lets have fun today ....... and cut down on washing ourselves afterwards.

Sure noticed a reduction in the noise (music) level this year. 2 out of the 3 noisy spots close by last year did not appear this year. The noise and of course the waste of a precious natural resource is all that bothers me.

I live just outside the ring road to the south of Khon Kaen and I do not drive in the evening at Songkran but last year and the year before many pick up trucks with big containers of water going past the end of the village on Klang Muang Road this year there was non of that just a few kids with water pistols on the roadside and I spoke to a friend who runs a bar near the Pullman and he said the police and army were stopping the water play at 10.30 pm

No reduction noticed here in Jomtien, but I am for the most part hunkered down in my

condo until Wednesday avoiding the celebrations like the plague. Rain/wet no problem

getting a bucket from some idiot who steps out into the middle of the road as I am riding

Downtown KK, Sri Chant Road, in the past there were hundreds of big blue water barrels and numerous hoses. This year no barrels and few hoses, just lots of water guns. I hardly got wet.

I got wet KK down near the dam. Lots of idiots in pick ups with barrels and sois lined with people. Most fairly respectful but a couple of dick heads hiding behind things hurling full buckets of water, near knock you off your bike! I didn't mind the lovely girls in skin tight shorts :-)
