VillageFarang...Daily life in Thailand and what I see

I live 50 kilometers east of Chiang Rai and my main camera is an older NEX-6 but these days I am more likely to have my iPhone in my pocket. I don’t take photography seriously but like to share images of the world as I see it. I thought I would start with where I live and spread out from there. This is the best image I have of our house and pond.

    This is my view from the house, at least part of the year, but it is an ever-changing view.

    I am not a morning person so I don’t see many sunrises but I seldom miss a sunset. Walking the dogs at sunset, some days are more dramatic than others, but it is always a highpoint of my day.

    Our nearest river is the Ing, maybe 2 km away and the bike is one of my favorite modes of transportation in this area.

This is our nearest mountain top, Phaya Phi Phak Forest Park, currently being developed. It looks down on our valley on to the west and over a valley to Phu Chi Fa to the east.

Khun Korn Waterfall the highest in Chiang Rai. Not to far from town and popular with tourists and local alike.

Stunning images (that mountain road!). Thailand really is a beautiful country. I miss the north.

Beautiful place! Lovely photos. Not my idea, though, of "the ideal". Glad you have made it home.

Beautiful shots Villagefarang ;

I went many times in Chiang Rai province but never in your countryside ..

Hope I will rectify this omission as soon as possible ;

first I want to go to Phu Chi Fa mountain but I'm sure, seeing your beautiful photos there are many other places to visit ;

hope I can go to u with my MTBike and maybe we can cycle together .

Thanks again for the sharing

Fabulous photos. I'm aiming to get to Chiang Rai on my next trip in December. It looks stunning

you are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place, thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.

Hi VF - wonderful photos and great area - - a well deserved prosperity for you to be in such a great locale. Our village is not nearly as scenic, but family is family. Our nearest waterfall is 40 minutes away... I have a friend working in a village, I think near Phu Chi Fah and hope to visit her there soon.

Thanks for sharing the photos - looks great.

Always loved Chiang Rai. Would love a Rai or 2 in your area.

Do you have any prices?

Looks brilliant and inviting who needs pattaya or bangkok for views
