Hi everyone,

After half a year in Thailand I'll go back to St marten with my dog poppy.

He needs a flotation test and an international Heath certificate. My vet in krabi can't do it. She told me about the 40inte section at the airport. Is that true ? Can I do everything at this place or do I have to go to Bangkok.

If you have some information about the process it would be super to share.

Best regards

Marion

It depends on what the country you are exporting your dog to. I have only exported and imported my dog to and from the USA. They require about the same documentation. I used to go to my vet near Central Festival Phuket and he would do it. Actually he's next door to a shop named Prom Pan, he may be able to do any tests you need. This past year I was told I had to take my dog to the Phuket Airport Animal Quarantine office, it's upstairs in the Cargo Terminal. You need a valid rabies certificate and Parvo Virus (shots at least 30 days prior and still valid). Your dog must have an RFID Chip, they will have you scan your dog at their office to make sure it's the right dog. A copy of your passport ID page, fill out a form with your address in Thailand and the address you are taking your dog to stay in. Then you have to come back in a few days to pick up the export permit and pay about a 50 Baht fee. The Export License is only valid 10 days.

You'll need to notify your airlines of the dimensions of the flight kennel and total weight and give them copies of your Export License. If you are transferring flights on the way, you will need a transfer permit from that country. Taipei does it by email, but they will want you to email them your documents along with a filed out application.

The whole thing is rather a pain, but you have to do it or the airline won't allow your dog on the flight.

I have the vet's number; 76222362 I have the older guy do it, but he's cut back his hours now though, but he knows what's needed. Phuket Animal Quarantine :

Good luck.

Hello Jimi

Well as I said I'm coming to St marten island. This isn't USA actually. I have the exact process. I just wanted to know if the 40ine station can do valid international health certificate and a flotation test. I'm gonna call tomorrow thanks for number.

My dad is working for air France that's the company I'm gonna take. And my dog will stay in cabin with me. I called Paris airport and they didn't talk about the transfer permit actually.

As I said, I only have knowledge of how to get an export permit from Thailand, which is all the USA requires. Actually they only require a current rabies certificate, Thailand requires the export license. I don't know what your country's requirements are to enter with your dog. I have no idea what you're talking about when you say 40ine station or floatation test. Most international carriers don't let dogs in the cabin...

Thanks for your answer.

I attached a doc. You can see the kind of test the island needs.

Do you a vet in Phuket who does it ?

Flotation test is like poo test (it's about internal parasites)

Did you try calling the veterinarian whose number I posted in my first post? He is only there after 5 PM I do believe these days as he has a younger vet that works all day and she's kind of useless. He speaks decent English and has been doing dog exports for many years as I think he is one of the first veterinarians on the island. I'm pretty sure he can do the tests you need. It looks like you need the blood test to see if the vaccines are working as well. Has your dog had all the vaccines required in part 3 section B? Those tests take some time from what I remember, most European countries require them he had also told me. His number: 0762-22362 Also you will need an RFID chip put in your dog (Thai requirement), he can do that too.

Hopefully you have original records of all your dog's vaccines as that will be needed.

Hello Jimi

Yes I called him everything is fine thank you :)

I have the iso microchip and all the vaccines they ask almost the end of the tunnel haha.

3 injections every 15days take a lot of time.

So he can do all the tests? Then you'll still need to go to the Quarantine Station at the airport with your dog right?
