Dyson Battery

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

We brought with us from the UK a Dyson Digital Slim DC35 Vacuum, the battery has now expired, anybody know where I can pick one of these things up?

I have seen the complete vacuum for sale here, but when asking about replacement batteries I get "Buy new Sir!"

Not the slightest trace of this highly specific/tailored part in Thai language sites.

Dyson wants 70 USD for the piece, but I guess you know that.

In this case I am afraid overseas shipment is the only way?

30 to 35 USD on Amazon and eBay plus shipment.

There is a known fault with the battery, are you sure it is expired?

The battery connection sometimes fails, a simple tie wrap overcame the problem

You might try to contact this company, they are the biggest supplier of Dyson products in Thailand.

Thanks Guys for the help

I am aware of the fault KNJ but this is a case of battery no longer holding charge.

Since I posted my wife has found there is a Dyson reseller in Thailand, she has phoned them and they are going to ring back with availability etc

If they do come back with a result, will post here for others info

Can get one on Ali Express, Ebay etc, but shipping is expensive, and wife cannot survive without it :)

Have you tried the battery re-celling counter at Amorn?

They do power tool batteries while you wait, should be able to do the vacuum battery too if they can get it open.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Could you try that with laptop batteries also?

I once tried it on my own (getting one open).

Epic failure.

The manufacturers do the best they can to make it hard to open.

Amorn at Fortune certainly used to do laptop batteries, worth a look.

Sorry what can they do with an old battery ?

Such battery packages/housings usually contain some form of standard single cells (batteries).

These cells are standardized off the shelf products.

Buying new cells and exchanging them in the housing is much cheaper than buy a complete new package.

Of course manufacturers are not too interested in this method, as they have big profit margins on their specific packages.

So they will make it hard to exchange the cells.

Not a layman's job usually.

This example picture is from a battery pack of a cordless screwdriver.

Exchange the green standard cells, much much cheaper than a spare part.
