I arrived on May 8 and got a 30 day stamp. What do I need to do to stay here for 4-5 months. I am British and aged 38.

Thanks in advance

  • You can extend your current 30 day visa exempt entry by 30 days at an immigration office for 1,900 baht.

At the end of the 60 days you can travel to a Thai Embassy/Consulate, in a neighbouring country, and get a single entry tourist visa (SETV).

On entry with the SETV you'll be granted a 60 day stay. That 60 day stay can be extended by a further 30 days at immigration for 1,900 baht.

Yes you have good advice above from expert. Even after that you could also fly out and back for another visa exempt stamp. Depending on how many exempt you already have. Note UK presently have visa exempt for 15 days to vietnam. HCMC good choice. Good alternative for your setv if policy does not change for UK pp holders

Thanks for that jacksam. I was already planning to visit neighbouring countries, so your info is good for me.
