Can't you make do with Jasmine rice? Since Thailand is a major rice producer and exporter, I doubt they import much rice.

There is (or was??) an Indian grocery next to the Sikh Temple. Maybe they would have some or know where it could be found.

On the soi that runs parallel to South Pattaya Rd, behind the government school grounds.

Did you look at the big one on Sukumvit?

Pretty sure I've seen big bags of it in the Indian/Foreign section, along with the papadums and lentils and such-like.

Anyone else seen this in Makro? Maybe at other Makro locations?

Thanks

Big C extra (Patt. klang), opposite the marmite/ jams etc., also in Foodland. saw it there Sat. 21 May.

Thanks guys! I'll check at both Big C on Pattaya Klang and Foodland next time I'm in town. Look forward to a change from Jasmine rice all the time...

Basmati rice does absorb much more water then thai jasmine rice or regular rice.

It is mandatory for such dishes as pilaf, biryani etc. Rice dishes which are cooked in broth.

By the way you you can buy at the small shop at Suncity hotel` first floor.
