Electricity - Price Per Unit, How Much Is Too Much?

Guys (and Gals),

What sort of a price per unit should I be aiming for in Bangkok?

I'm looking at several Apartment buildings to rent at and they generally have rates like 7 baht or 8 baht per unit. Is that a good rate for Bangkok?

I know in Hua Hin I was getting it for 6 baht per unit.

Is it a landlord thing that they hike the electricity up for rentees?

That said some of these places are new builds and have the (all important!) WiFi connection :o

Thoughts appreciated.

2.2B per unit is what you pay without building's markup.

There are places that will let you pay directly to the utility company (electricity, water, phone) at any 7-11.

In the months around Songkran(when aircon is used a lot), the difference it makes could be 3-4K baht per month.

Previous place had 5B per unit and markup on everything. So, basic rent of 9500B per month was going to near 15K per month.

I was charged 2.6 baht/unit on my October bill that came today...the wife paid the motorbike guy that comes around with the bills directly in cash...he writes the amount paid directly onto the bill, does a small wai and put, puts down the road...

small town Thailand does have its' charm, I gotta admit...
