Hip has gotten bad recently, sharp pain when walking on the flat and leg sort of gives way a bit, stairs ok. Was thinking of anti inflammatory pills but usually not advisable with stomach conditions. Are there any anti inflammatories you can take with gastritis?

The COX-2 inhibitors (Arcoxia etc) are supposedly less irritating to the stomach. However taken long term this increase the risks of heart attacks and strokes (so much so that one brand was taken off the US market).

Best approach depends on cause which could be several things including spine. Do you have arthritis that you know of?

Physical exam and Xray. You need to see an orthopedic surgeon.

Basically the likely differential is hip problem (arthritis, bursitis) vs lower spine

Combine Ibuprofen(antiinflammatory and painrelive) + omeprazol(protects your stomach).

Is that advice provided on the basis of personal experience or are you a qualified health care practitioner ?

Either way the advice should be ignored as the OP has already stated he suffers from an established, active gastritis which may be a contra indication for the use of Ibuprofen

Hopefully the OP will seek medical opinion and be guided by medical advice.

Why ask in the forum of strangers? This really needs a doctors advice.

It is your health and a visit to a doctor for a diagnosis is usually not to much money unless there are loads of test.

For my current needs I use Celebrex but this is on advice from my doctors and not from strangers.
