NAKORN SRI THAMMARAT: -- Police are hunting two youths for the stabbing murder of a 16 year old who was buying some cigarettes in a local convenience store in Nakorn Sri Thammarat on Sunday.

Police say that the case is one of jealousy - the dead boy and one of his assailants were after the same girl reported Thairath.

Kittithat (Mek) Dernchai, 16, had been stabbed twice at the store. Police who rushed to the scene found a lot of blood in a kitchen out the back of the store where the young man had fled to try and evade his attackers. Foundation workers had already sent him to hospital but he was pronounced dead.

The attack took place in the Pattanakarn Khu Kwang area of the town that is known as the murder capital of Thailand. He worked nearby at a restaurant. CCTV captured a very clear likeness of two young assailants and police are confident of a quick arrest in the matter.
