Swimming pools

Featured Replies

How clean are they?

I love swimming as a fitness thing, but twenty laps in freestroke mode trying to beat my last time.

Nothing wrong with the one at home but I like doing laps so went to the public one after work a few times. Besides the amount of people like sardines in a can, have been getting red eyes, itchy skin and had a couple of ear issues even though I wear all the gear.

Anyone here also a dedicated swimmer and ideas how to minimize problems? I'd like to keep it up.

For your ears I always carry a small bottle of alcohol and put a few drops in each ear after doing laps. Never a problem

alternatively.... drink the alcohol and forget the problemlaugh.png

Good idea and drink a lot of de-natured alcohol you'll be dead before your ears hurt so much and you wish you were 55555

I've not heard of using alcohol but hydrogen peroxide is a common ear dropping liquid.

Personally I use ear plugs to keep the water out completely

The best way to is to keep ears dry as the water in your ears can cause infection . Peroxide is good for cleaning your ears but does nothing to keep ears dry. Other than alcohol after you swim you can use, olive oil before your swim, same effect
