Woman upset with daughter jumps down a well

KRABI: -- Krabi locals yesterday reported a woman jumping into a well behind Ao Leuk Police Station.

“Sawat Bootkrajong, 59, reportedly jumped into the five-meter-deep well, due to a domestic dispute involving her daughter’s return to her hometown in Ratchaburi,” said Pornthip Paklang of the Ao Leuk rescue team.

Rescue workers spent about 40 minutes negotiating with Ms Sawat, before convincing her to climb back up with the help of a lowered rope.

Silly bugger. What was she expecting to achieve?

Only thing was she got wet.

Not exactly a suicide attempt, just a cry for help or attention. She went to a well behind the police station, it's a pity for her that there wasn't a well inside the station then they could have stopped her and saved her from getting wet.

Thai's are certainly very volitile and many seem to think that life should be lived as in their soap operas. Angst sure plays a big part!
