Hi everyone. Me and my wife(thai) have a visa renewal tomorrow at a uk premium service centre. Shes been here 2 and 1/2 years , we are married so i believe the form is FLR(M). I really could do with someone checking the documents i have just to make sure we havent missed anything? We have two british passport holding kids under 4 years old, so theres a lot at stake!

Ive gathered the follwoing:

1 X FLR M APPLICATION FORM

2X passport photos-wife

1x passport photo-me

1 passport of my wife

1 old and new passport of me

Cert copy of my birth certificate

Translated/cert copy of her birth certificate (used in orig spouse visa application)

marriage cert and certified translation

I hold two jobs, both for more than 6 months, of which combined i exceed 20k.....i have 6 monthly wage slips for each (12 in total) spanning the last 6 months.

2xp60's for each job i hold

2x letters of confirmation from each employer.

2xcontracts of employment

Wage slips are all signed/confirmed genuine

6 months of bank electronic bank statements of mine, showing all 12 pay deposits over the last 6 months.HSBC have knocked up a letter confirming they are genuine.

Current and previous tenancy agreements and before that we lived with my mum, so she has written a letter confirming the dates we lived with her.

3 x letters solely addressed to me at various addresses

3 x letters solely addressed to my wife at our various addresses

3 x joint addressed letter at our various addresses

About 15 photos of us together at various points in the last 2 and half years.

And i may write a brief covering letter summing up our 2 and a half years and mentioning our BRITISH PASSPORT HOLDING kids? what do you think guys? Really hope i havent missed anything. So nervous its unreal.

Hope you have time to comment. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't waste your time, WrongwayUbon. As long as all the supporting documents are in order then you'll both be fine. Use that time more efficiently by going through all the supporting documents again to make sure there's no errors or omissions.

Try to think of FLR and ILR as a totally separate beast from the original settlement visa.

Trust me, the officer that inspects your wife's application will, providing there's no issues, be looking at your wife's FLR application for all of 10 to 15 minutes at most and they aren't interested in your family's life story.

Good choice with the PSC as it just gets it all out of the way on the day. Not cheap, but comes highly recommended from me.

Good luck.

Thanks very much Mooloo, ill do as you say and perhaps leave the letter. That aside, do you think i have all the correct documents? I'm a worrier by nature so premium is the only way to go for me! The kids will have to wait for another 6 months to get new shoes but hopefully they'll still have their mum here haha. What do you think?

OH, another thing...both my jobs(held for more than 6 months each)....anyone know how to note this on the application? Seems like there's only one space for one job.....~?? i have two....

Forget these as well; not needed and add noting to the application. It is evidence of living together, in the form you have listed, which they require; not photos of days out together!

The FLR(M) form itself says what evidence is required, depending on how your wife has answered the various questions, so check against that.

For the financial requirement, check the parts of the specified evidence appendix relevant to you.

You haven't mentioned the English requirement. She needs to include evidence that she meets this (at present A1 in English speaking and listening, but this changes to A2 in October).

She can use the same pass certificate she used in her original application; even if the certificate has expired and/or the provider is no longer on the approved list.

As it says in the relevant part of the form (question 7.3A),

If you or your sponsor have had more than one job, you must provide the full details for each job held and the specified evidence for each job.

If there is not room to do this in the fairly small boxes provided then do so on a separate sheet and note on the from that this is what you have done.

No problems, WrongwayUbon.

I'm not up on the latest documentation requirements as my wife came to UK under the old rules, i.e. three years. None of that FLR nonsense three years ago. wink.png

But, you've covered the application form, bank statements, pay slips, P60s, ID in various forms, tenancy agreements, utility letters covering the last two years, particularly addressed to your wife / both of you [nicely spaced out, three covering each year?].

As for your last point, enter details of your second employment in the 'additional information' box. Keep it brief and succinct, i.e. just covering the same points as the first job.

You don't need to include your wife's birth certificate or yours. They weren't required for the initial application either. But you do need to include your children's birth certificates even though they're British passport holders and neither applying with your wife nor subject to any immigration control.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. TCA, really? It shouldnt be an issue as i have them here but no mention anywhere of childrens documents that aren't even part of the application...not that i can see anyway. But thanks for the heads up....

Look at the bold print in Section 4 on page 15 of the form:

"As well as children who are applying as your dependants you should also include details of all dependent children including those who are British citizens or settled in the UK"

Also see page 61 of Section 13 on documents to be supplied:

"An original full birth certificate i.e. one which shows the parents’ names for each of your children. This includes children applying for an extension of stay in the UK with you, as well as children not applying with you and those not subject to immigration control."
