check out makro...I was there a couple of days ago and they had 500g bunches of asparagus for 30 baht per...couldn't believe they were so cheap, don't know where they came from...unwrapped and nicely presented upright in a pan fulla water......

got some folks over and set some out on the table with drinks and a mayo dip and they are scarfing them down even though they were initially hesitant due to 'falang food syndrome'...

I got my dead wife's cousin over who I always fancied and she is now pleasantly relaxed fulla vodka and asparagus and I now intend something totally dishonorable...

'yer not gonna let me stay here alone after all that's happened, are you?' 'oh, you poor man...of course not...'

Careful with the asparagus, the only gout attack I ever had was a week after my wife brought home a bushel of nice fresh asparagus...ate it twice a day, steamed, fried, grilled....

gout attacks? holy shit! maybe I've been spared thus far because of the price of asparagus in the west...

tutsi is in bed in suphan writhing in pain from extremity inflammation due to asparagus induced gout and then the wife's cousin appears...'here in rural asia there shall be punishment when a man takes advantage of a woman's good intentions after a glass of vodka...that asparagus was quite nice but the pain inflicted as a result of falang dishonesty and lascivious behavior is sublime...what goes around comes around, die in pain ye bastid...'

she completed matayom and her manner can be deadly when she chooses...part of her attraction...

I like a nice pork loin (pictured) slathered with dijon wrapped in foil and in the oven for 45mins...then at the end whisk the pork drippings with the mustard with a splash of cream for a nice sauce...serve with asparagus, they got some nice at tescos and makro presently...

I hope the kids helped you out. Apart from the banana, it is way too much sugar and artificial flavor for my system.

Yeah, “...a man’s got to know his limitations.”

Wife and kids helped out...

Had an okay family sized “Fried Platter” at Manhattan Fish, Terminal 21.

The fried is good but the grilled (last time) was better.

Kid likes the milkshakes, they’re not bad.

I never had a pork-chop in Thailand that tasted like the real thing (in America). They tasted like pork, but without the unique taste that pork-chops have at home.

dunno...some of the best tasting pork I've had has been in Thailand...around here they feed the pigs on slop and there's a pig slop man from the local abbatoir that comes around every afternoon in his pickup...the neighbors have got a food preparation business with plenty of slop available...US pigs are usually fed on pig feed with the associated hormones and etc...

Yeah, I think the pork here is good.

But like my mom, “All my taste is in my mouth.”

permissive parenting is the cause of 'misspent yoof'...in Tennessee and Mississippi yoofful miscreants where given a whippin' and sent to military school as punishment...

my folks were investigating that possibility when I was about 15 y.o  but they sent me 8000 miles away to Bolivia to live instead...

'what's tutsi doin'?' 'the usual riot, he's seduced a 25 y.o. local woman and is about to get kicked outta school as a result...'

and then the adults couldn't decide whether to scream with rage or bellow with laughter...things just ain't fair when yer a kid...

Ok, but do they have passable pork chops in Bolivia?  'Jes askin...'

?

no, they usually serve pork in a big thick boneless cut called 'pulpa'...quite nice with some potatoes and the local salsa...

also, out in the countryside 'chicherias' they have 'chupon' which is a suckling piglet buried the previous day with hot coals and served up the next morning...quite nice with pitchers of the local chicha...

nah, she was a 'buena gente' girl and considered to be a great local beauty and the local Spanish would do for my purposes...and it wasn't just that she was years older than me but I was a gringo and a usurper and she was engaged to be married to boot...at the high school the Spanish lit teacher growled 'gringo disgrasciado, yew ain't gettin' outta my class alive...'...later I discovered that he was her teacher as well and was besotted with her...it was a serious business and I was just wantin' to have a party in california gringo fashion...

I was soon evacuated by my parents who then realized the error of sending me down there to begin with...it wasn't a total loss, I learned to speak the language fluently...

I was born in Nashville but I haven't been back in 50 years...and I remember the 'misty mountains' near Chattanooga from the famous songs when I was a kid...

nice countryside around Nashville and there is Percy Warner Park that has got to be one of the nicest municipal parks in the US...useta go there to get high...I planted some seeds next to the road in the park and wondered if they ever produced...not only does tutsi desecrate the park by smoking illegal substances but he then sows the seeds of future Nashville corruption...gotta love it...

I shoulda said speak, read and write Spanish fluently after 2 years...one picks up languages quickly when they are young...the offending spanish teacher gave us an 'in class' writing assignment and then viciously called me out to read mine and then there was silence as it was superb...and then the teacher piped up and said 'esto fue escrito por un boliviano!' thereby accusing me of plagiarism and then others piped up and said 'el tutsi lo escribio, senor, lo hemos visto...' and he was defeated...

classroom chaos ensued with the presumed 'head boy' challenging me about various meanings in my essay but he was drowned out...and then the teacher was seething with hatred...

it was a minor triumph but I knew then that I had to get outta there...

at the airport I saw a classmate 'where are ye goin' now tutsi?' 'dunno, either Nashville or Los Angeles, wherever they got some room fer me...' I was just a traditional california surfer boy wantin' to have a party...

'treat (teach) your children well...'
