Thai's Visiting And Staying In Singapore

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have searched on the net for some info on this but not come up with anything, so thought I would ask the experts. I am taking my TG to Singapore for a few days and know that we will both be able to get a Visa on Arrival, so no worries there. However, these is a chance I may go there to work. I have no intention of getting married, so what are her visa requirement for longstay and perhaps obtaining employment?

Best wishes

If she needs to stay there more than 14 days, she could just do afew visa runs to Malaysia, total cost less than $7 SGD return bus trip, plus about 3-4 hours time. But im sure if she kept doing visa runs she would eventually be stoped or questioned.

Thais are eligable for visa exempt entry (NOT VOA) to Singapore for 30 days. Often on entry, offical will give 14 or less depending on what you put on entry card and if she is accompanied by someone (a farang or singaporean).

Entry stamp runs will not last for long. Best bet is to discuss with your employer who is providing your work visa. Singapore does not really have anything against TG's, they just want to be sure they are not 'working".

TH

Accompany her to the immigration desk to increase her chances of getting a 30-day stamp.

before the 30 days is up go with her to the immigration office nearby the Lavender MRT stop to get another 15 or 30 day stamp.

Going to Malaysia is not a good thing to do (we went to the Malaysian border and she was given a hard time before I stepped in, and were told the above)
