I am considering to have a career break in Japan, come to Thailand (in BKK I have a wife, daughter and a nice place on SkyTrain to live).

The purpose would be - to master Thai. I may even get my company to cover the cost.

So, the price is not important. Just quality.

I searched, googled but could not find equivalents of "Intensive Thai" that goes over months or a year in a well known institution (like BKK Uni). They have something but it's a 2 hrs per week coupled with other courses.

I don't want to go to cheap places like AUA that teach using heavily criticised "natural method".

What I need is a well structured, full time Mon-Fri day course. Something that is certified, accepted by the authorities as language profficiency certificate and that would assist me in getting the appropriate visa.

Would anyone be able to post a link or clues where to look?

Try:

Nisa Thai Language School, 32/14-16 Yenkart Road, Sathorn.

Telephone: 02 671 3359-60 Fax: 02 671 3361

A friend of mine took a couple of intensive Thai classes and she's now really fluent in speaking Thai.

Bkk Uni's Thai classes are not that intensive and they oftn cancel/postpone classes (based on my experience). You can also check Chula Uni., although I've never had any experience there..

Good luck to you...

Thanks...

Googling for Nisa Thai Language School revealed other good places. Berlitz is there too.

600B per private lesson (in Tokyo they charge equivalent of 3200B per 40 mins lesson).

Also, that school at Asoke, I have known about it, did not understand they were in high-power teaching too.

OK, now that I know what to expect and where to look, doing other preparations.
