What a load of croc! Where can it be? Pattaya of course!

PATTAYA: -- Pictures of tourists shared online had thousands of Thais wondering what far off country they were witnessing.

It seemed to be awfully unusual as many tourists were crammed on a raft feeling a ravenous group of crocodiles swirling all around, reported Thairath.

Where is that far off country they asked? It does look a bit dangerous though, they commented online.

Thai Rath reporters discovered that the exotic land was none other than an elephant sanctuary in the Banglamung area near Pattaya. T

he place has been open ten years and caters mostly to group tours and is not well known to Thais, the report said.

Tourists are given elephant rides and can get up close and personal with some scary looking crocs.

There must be a local authority who should be checking whether the 'raft' is strong, whether there's any chance of the floor breaking, etc, and the owners have some back up plan for an emergency?

Guess we will hear about that agency and what they intend to do after an accident.

I went to a zoo like placd here once....it was unreal....they had a sign. It said simply Be Careful....Then a brief no mans land, and a wall. on the other side of this wall within smells breath were hippos....with there mouths wide open. I noted that it would not have taken much for the lady to drop her baby into the mouth of one them.....Also...anybody out there ever pet the Rhino at the old Bkk Zoo?.......Thailand. Always Amazes.....or TAA.

I've seen vision of a big croc rip the bull bar off the front of a 4 wd in Northern Australia, I'm sure those plastic drums would be easy for them to puncture and next thing the raft is sinking on one side and the crocs are licking their collective jaws. A disaster just waiting to happen.

some bright spark came up with the idea, then a very obviously highly skilled engineer designed a floating raft made up of plastic barrels strapped together with rope, velly cheap I can make no problem. There is one sure 100% certainty - if it fails in the slightest way everyone on board will be eaten alive and authorities will be scratching their heads as they count the death toll and TAT will of course (after the event) be assuring tourists that they are doing everything to ensure Thailand is safe......as long as it doesn't cost too much ("an arm" and a "leg") and in this case many arms and legs in fact whole bodies of people eaten alive, the stupidity is unrivaled

Floating around on a raft made of blue drums and bamboo in a crocodile infested river, feeding them chopped up chickens on a makeshift bamboo and string fishing rod to get them super hungry?

Are these people absolutely out of their minds?

If one of those rafts comes apart, or if the shift of people moving to one side (to take photos on their phones of course) tips the thing over its going to be feeding time alright. Crocs will be dining on dumb tourists for dinner., Im sure they worry about the pieces of chicken.

Bit surprised they don't have a Karaoke Machine on board

so they can sing and feed the crocks at the same time.

And a bar to get them super drunk, then they can see which one will feed the beasties by hand first,,,

the backup plan is organisers run away with the money they took from the tourists,,,giggle.gif

No thanks - they're quicker than they look....

They sure as hell are, learned this in Papua were crocks would propel themselves out of the water up on the riverbank at approx. 30KPH. If you were on the riverbank your chances were nil getting away from the crock. We lost some of our native workers that way.

Crocks here in Thailand do not seem to be that fast, yesterday coming home there was a small crock crossing the road without ever increasing his movement to get out off the way of the car, so it was me steering the car out of the way of the crock.

This could be useful in extracting difficult confessions from criminals and gathering intelligence from the enemy...a few would, of course, have to fall in the croc infested waters to make it effective...

Let's hope no one shows this article to Sir Donald...

These crocs are smart! They know if you give enough brown envelopes to the "authorities" you will be well fed wai.gif

I think the only ones with any brains are swimming round in the water in leather!

Great place to bring a soon to be ex-wife.

You just can't fix stupidity on behalf of the public. No matter how stupid, how ridiculously dangerous a ride or event can be, there will be people lined up to get on it.
