I can't speak of South America but in Asia there is no bigger brothel as Thailand.

So where would those sextourists go then? Probably the Thai hookers will also go there.

Angeles Philippines springs to mind.

Makes Pattaya look like a family place

I think Thailand could easily survive losing Nana, Cowboy and all the rubbish businesses along Beach Rd, etc in Pattaya. Pattaya is just waiting to be reborn as a fresh city, a retreat for Thai families two hrs from BKK. You can toss in whatever adult oriented businesses in CM as well.

All the men that frequent these places tourists, retirees, teachers on 30k pm. Thailand won't skip one heartbeat.

From the posts I have seen people are getting bogged down with the tourist side of the sex industry here. It is Thai men and Thai only massage parlours etc that make up the majority of it here. Patpong, Cowboy, Nana, Patong and Pattaya are just the visible part of the iceberg....

That's it then. Expect a 90% drop in tourists in Bangers and Pattaya.

Well thought out, K. Khobkarn.

The  remaining 10%    of tourists , of which i am one ,

visit Thailand  for elephant trecking  , and  visiting  the  temples . Really .

someone angling for a better cut of the proceeds ?

Good luck to her, it's an industry riddled with crime, disease, drugs and despair. The country might start to be a decent place with less of it, although you cannot get rid of it completely, filth is best swept away as much as possible.

That filth kept me in Thailand for 20 years - and gave me the best years of my life.

Still, if it ends in Thailand, it will surface somewhere else - albeit with less attractive women.

This, as well as tuk tuks, beaches, coconuts, spicy food, etc. is a part of Thailand's image/appeal.

Like it or lump it.

So you're the one who abuse those poor elephants? They don't have a free choice. Getting drugged up for your entertainment. Don't let me start about the temples . Lol

If I don't wan't a future partner or wife then I should just not date ???? Woman enjoy sex just as much as men do, sometimes I think more so !!!

so why should I have to be the one to pay for it ?

Equality is not alive and well when it comes to sex, both enjoy, but man pays.. still that's not any different than most things, you very seldom see a woman pay for coffee, drinks or a meal anywhere in the world, when she is with a man.. so man is already paying, the woman should pay with free sex...

It is a one way street now....

One way street, well I have to agree the women in the west get the best of it in general, but buying a meal does NOT entitle you to have sex with whoever you dined with....

C'mon George, you just grab them on the pussy, we all know that's what the leader of the free world does, and if it's good enough for him ...

There has been female sex tourist coming here for years.

So that argument doesn't stand up (sorry about the pun).

Please don't drag this into a PC/LBGT discussion.

Sex between two consenting adults is not a problem, it should be left to them behind closed doors, and the exchange of any money should be the decision of the individual people involved.

In a business, if a dancer or bar employee wants the rest of the night off they need to be compensated for, so bar fines are not immoral in my book. What happens after is "up to you". The ago-go bars are a showcase for those willing to engage with the customers, but they are paid a salary to perform and encourage people to drink. This is provided the choice to go or stay is not up to the management of the establishment, only the employee.

The Dark Side of the massage parlours and other establishments is often a different equation however.

The pimps and those who exploit people are the ones who should be prosecuted. The law is the ass in most cases, as the pimps etc only exist to circumvent the law. If it was regulated in a constructive way the whole thing would be much safer and healthier for the parties involved.

But that's just my view........

And good ol' Bill Clinton and JFK etc are not guilty of a little fraternization?

Maybe they needed a "Donald Duck"?

You seem to be under the misapprehension that I was scoring a partisan political point. Bill Clitoris is one of my heroes WRT sexual behavior too

Someone once said that when Bill meets JFK in the afterlife his first question will be "How did you get away with it?"

How long ago did you leave your monastery. Men pay because it makes us feel good well it does to me.

They have what we desire unless you are a turd burglar, so it just seems sensible right and in some stoopid way honorable to pay. I have been an escort, sex masseur, adult video actor and I was paid well for my services. So these women deserve every penny that get from leeches like us.

This the Minister of Sports and tourism, Kobkarn Wattanavrankul. I believe she is correctly referred to as a woman.

Looks like an asexual, joyless, passionless prude from this angle.

Prostitution is prohibited in Thailand. But Thailand is still the world's biggest brothel.  That shows clearly how Thailand not fulfills his own laws, because high-ranking politians and police profit from it.

Thailand is not the world biggest brothel.

Measured by prostitutes per capita, the prostitution density in Germany is higher.

While it is doubtful who should be counted as a "prostitute" in Thailand.

Indeed. And while "brothels" are illegal in Thailand, prostitution isn't!
