Orthopedic Clinic/surgeons: Shoulder Surgery?

My left shoulder is on its way out...advanced arthritis. Shoulder joint replacement was recommended awhile back in Amerika. Since then I've discovered that life can be better in TH.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a Thai Orthopedic Clinic and/or surgeon who specializes in shoulder joint replacement -- either full or partial. Thanks. m

I'm having computer trouble right now, but Dr. Arun at Samitivej hospital off of Sukumvit in Bangkok is highly trained and does shoulder replacements. In Chiang Mai, Dr. Chanakhat at Maharaj does, also (I can get his ID for you). They do more knees and hips, bu they do shoulders and are US-trained.

Peaceblondie gave me a helpful tip for Dr. Aree at Samitivej. Dr. Aree is very kind and personable guy--the only one in the 3 surgeons I met that actually spent enough time to explain to me my situation. From what I remember, he does shoulders as well as hip replacements.

I did not feel very satisfied with my experience at Bumrungrad Hospital.

Samitivej seems so much better in every way.

Whatever you do, make sure you research the surgeon thoroughly before going under the knife.

I am also looking for a knee surgeon.

Had a tear repaired 6 months ago, but seemed to be getting better, then 2 weeks ago got worse.

I can feel another operation coming on and the original was done at Samitivej by Doc Bunyat, but would like a second opinion from another very experienced knee doc from another hospital.

Piyavate has a so called specialised 'joint' centre and another hosptial in Thonburi which had an article in todays Bkk post re a guy who had dual hip replacements and it sounded very good. The main surgeon schooled and trained in US also.

Any recommendations from anyone re a very experienced and good knee surgeon.

Folowing a very high speed motorcycle accident in the UK I had to consider knee and shoulder joint replacement.

My doctor here is also a weight lifter and he has personally had good results from a new herbal medicine which helps the llquid in the joint renew itself

It is called Glucosamine +Chondroitin.

Have only been taking it for 2 weeks now as it has only recently been approved in the UK but the initial results seem promising.

I hope this information may help someone
