PHUKET: -- Police are hunting for a man who allegedly shot another four times early this morning in Patong.

Patong Police received reports of the incident at 3.41am, which took place at a parking lot behind the VIP Room nightclub on Bangla Road.

The victim, Sayan Padungsap, 35, identified the shooter as 34-year-old Thanapon Pankaew before being rushed to Patong Hospital. He was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Vachira Phuket Hospital, where his condition is reportedly critical.

“Mr Sayan was shot four times – in his stomach, right hip, left calf and left foot,” said Maj Teerasak Boonsang of the Patong Police.

He Identified his shooter.

Another case of friends falling out over petty matters or loss of face after a few drinks?

Incredible Thailand.

Presumably this the Vachira Phuket Hospital Intensive Care Unit where none of his visitors are wearing appropriate clothing or masks and wandering around in their dirty shoes with god only knows what stuck to them. In his condition he could be in more danger in ICU than the parking lot of VIP Room nightclub itself.

Is this accepted practice for Intensive Care Wards in Thai hospitals? Just asking.

Typical of any Thai public hospital. At least he has his own room.

Just a few days ago we visited my wife's brother-in-law at Surat Thani public hospital. At least 50 beds packed into one ward, hardly any space between beds, I was horrified to see how rusty the metal bed framed looked. Even more amazed to see that his wife, daughter, and granddaughter were sleeping under his bed for the past few weeks.

Looking at the picture I would say this was taken in Patong Hospital. It did say that he was later transferred to the intensive care unit at Vachira Phuket hospital.

Although I agree with you about the standards in some of the hospitals here.

Don't pretend you're just asking.

I would prefer another hospital, but the medical care at Vachira is not bad at all.
